Vanshi Pathak: Keeping the school green

Vanshi Pathak (6CD) is proud to be an Eco-buddy. Read below to find out what Vanshi does to help keep our school green:

"Being an Eco-Monitor is not difficult or boring, it is actually really fun! This can be a big responsibility because you need to know what your job is, what it means and why you chose to be an Eco-Monitor. The CISAK Eco-Monitors have three groups that all have different responsibilities. One group looks after the school's plants, one group focuses on healthy eating and the other group focuses on paper recycling in the school. I am in the 'green plants group' and it is a big responsibility. My job means that every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday I have to water the plants in the offices. I like my job because I like plants.

On Wednesday 22 April 2015, our school celebrated Earth Day. The Eco-Monitors were busy; we had to wear green t-shirts and at breaks we checked everyone's lunch boxes to see if they brought a litter free lunch or not. At 11:30, all the lights were switched off in all the classes and all the offices. We did that to save electricity. We had lots of fun!

I enjoy being an Eco-Monitor because I love looking after planet Earth. I want to keep it green!"
