NAISAK Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Pink Day and Healthy Living Tips

NAISAK’s Pink Day 2025 brought the school community together to raise breast cancer awareness, fundraise for research, and share simple, healthy tips to help prevent breast cancer for life.
NAISAK Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October at NAISAK was marked by an inspiring wave of pink as students and staff united to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month through a lively and meaningful Pink Day celebration.

The event, led by a dedicated group of Year 11 students working closely with the school’s wellbeing team, transformed the school courtyard into a vibrant hub of community spirit and support. From delicious pink-themed treats like cotton candy and waffles to creative face painting featuring pink ribbons and heartwarming designs, the day was filled with energy, fun, and a powerful message of hope.

“It was important for us to create an event that was both enjoyable and meaningful,” said one of the student organizers. “Breast cancer affects many people, and by coming together, we wanted to support those impacted and spread awareness throughout our community.”

Special guests from the Qatar Cancer Society joined the event, recognizing the students’ efforts and providing educational resources, donation opportunities, and encouragement. With contributions from local vendors and a strong spirit of generosity, NAISAK’s Pink Day raised over 5000 QR to support breast cancer research and patient care.

Building Awareness Through Healthy Habits

While breast cancer is more common in adults, NAISAK encourages students to adopt healthy habits early in life that can reduce the risk of cancer and promote overall wellbeing. Here are five simple, practical tips every student and family can follow:

  1. Choose Nutritious Foods
Eating a balanced diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains supports the body’s natural defenses and helps maintain a healthy weight — a key factor in lowering cancer risk. Try incorporating more real, wholesome foods into your meals every day.
  2. Stay Active Daily
Regular physical activity strengthens the body and boosts the immune system. Whether it’s walking, cycling, playing sports, or dancing, moving your body daily is a fun way to stay healthy.
  3. Avoid Smoking and Vaping
Both smoking and vaping introduce harmful chemicals into the body that increase cancer risk. Saying no to these habits is one of the most important steps to protecting your health.
  4. Adopt Healthy Lifestyle Choices
Good hydration, adequate sleep, and reducing sugary drinks are small habits that build a strong foundation for long-term health. Aim for 8 hours of restful sleep and choose water over sugary beverages whenever possible.
  5. Talk, Share, and Support
Raising awareness starts with conversations. Whether it’s discussing breast cancer with family, supporting friends, or participating in community events like Pink Day, your voice matters in spreading knowledge and empathy.

Why Awareness Matters at NAISAK

NAISAK’s Pink Day was more than just an event—it was a reminder of the power young people have to lead positive change. By combining celebration with education and fundraising, students demonstrated compassion and leadership that ripple beyond the school walls.

Breast cancer awareness and prevention are lifelong commitments, and the school community’s dedication to supporting survivors, honoring those affected, and promoting healthy habits exemplifies NAISAK’s values of care and community.

As we continue to learn and grow together, let’s remember that prevention starts with awareness and action—and that every small choice counts toward a healthier future.
