Principal's Message - 3rd March 2019

Dear Parents and Students

One of our aims this year was to increase the amount of activities we offer our students and community outside of the classroom. I hope you will agree that we have been successful in this regard, as we have been able to take part in a wide array of events. To name but a few, we have held two International and NAISAK hiking expeditions since the start of the half-term break. Last week, also saw us host our first ever whole school production. We finished the school week with our biggest Parent Teacher Friends Association (PTFA) BBQ to date. During the weekend a number of our Primary School students were involved in the British International Schools of Qatar (BISQ) games at Aspire Academy. You will be able to read more about our performances in the BISQ games in next week’s newsletter.

I would like to congratulate and thank all the cast and crew that were involved in the production of Cinderella. Offering our first whole school production is an important milestone in any school’s development. I am sure you will agree that the students did a brilliant job performing for those of us that were fortunate enough to enjoy the show. Next year, we will offer drama as part of our Key Stage 3 curriculum, which is the final phase to be introduced as part of our partnership with The Juilliard School. I am sure the introduction of drama, coupled with music and dance that we are already offering will help to ensure the Arts will continue to flourish at NAISAK.

Thank you to the PTFA for their tremendous efforts in organising Thursday afternoon’s BBQ. There were nearly 500 people in attendance taking part in a variety of activities from the Bouncy Castle, to Splat the Teacher to penalty shootouts to name a few. Revenues and expenses are being finalised as I type. However, please rest assured that any surplus funds are spent on our students.

Our PTFA meets in my office on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:20-8:10. Our next meeting is this Tuesday morning. All parents are welcome to attend.
