Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Although it is only the beginning of 2020, it is already time for me to start planning for the next academic year. Last week, we spent two days putting candidates for the Head of Primary role through their paces. They faced a range of panels (including parents, teachers and students), tasks and interviews. The candidates were all very impressive and all were keen to come and be a part of our fabulous school. I am delighted to announce that our new Head of Primary will be Mr Jamie Hughes. Mr Hughes currently works at an international school in Doha; prior to that, he worked with Nord Anglia Education in our Beijing school. Mr Hughes is married with two young children; the whole family are looking forward to joining the NAISAK community. I will share further information with you in due course but since Mr Hughes is already here in Qatar, you are likely to see him in and around school over the coming months, preparing for his new role.

I am also delighted to tell you that we have appointed Mr Chris Parfitt to the role of Deputy Head of Secondary for the upcoming academic year. As many of you will know, Mr Parfitt currently takes care of our oldest students in Years 10-12. At present, he is participating in Nord Anglia’s prestigious Senior Leadership Programme and his promotion to Deputy Head reflects his growth as a leader and his commitment to the NAISAK community. It is always a pleasure to be able to promote from within and this appointment is particularly well deserved. Do congratulate Mr Parfitt if you see him around the school.

I will be away from school all next week, recruiting class teachers for next year. I will keep you all informed and let you know if London is currently any warmer than Qatar!

Have a great week,

Elizabeth Lamb
