Jackie Beaver

Year 5 Teacher

Jackie Beaver has been in Switzerland since 2000. She has worked at La Côte Internationals School since 2009. Educated in the UK, she holds a degree in English and French and a PGCE in French. Following her studies she taught English at Amiens University in France. Whilst taking time out to raise a family, she studied for a diploma in book-keeping and was active in her local church and PTA. Prior to coming to Switzerland she had been working as a special needs assistant teacher, particularly with autistic spectrum difficulties. At La Côte International School she has taught in F1 and is currently teaching Year 5. Jackie has also trained as an art-therapist since 2010. She has worked with adults in a range of settings such as psychiatric day care, post-operative and oncology hospital units. She works with children as well and currently runs a state funded project for refugee children in Geneva, to support their social and educational integration.
