After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Physics at Leeds University, Sarah Wheeler, spurred on by her love of the subject studied for a Ph.D. in Experimental Particle Physics at Sheffield University, preparing herself for a career as a research Physicist at CERN where she worked for 25 years. A member of three different experimental collaborations she was an integral part of the team that developed the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. Always passionate about outreach and public understanding of Science she finally decided to leave CERN to become a secondary school Physics teacher. She began her teaching career at College du Leman in 2008 and moved to La Côte International School in 2014 where she is an IB Diploma and MYP Physics teacher. She is inspiring the next generation of young scientists by combining her sound teaching techniques with her enthusiasm and wealth of professional knowledge and experience.
