On Saturday 26th November, 24 students from our school went to compete in QSI Math Olympiad. Surely no-one would like to solve maths problems on Saturday but it was a great fun participating. We got presents and LOTS of food. We had chips, pizza cookies, banana, sandwiches, brownies, fruit juices and mandarins. Three teacher came along with us and we all met at 9 am at QSI. Throughout the maths competition we had individual tests, team tests and team problem solving, we of course had breaks between. My Year 8 team were called the Rationals. I formed the team about a month and half before the maths competition. My team members were Bomin(me), Mor, Gyu-Ri and Ivan. Before the maths competition we met in Maths Club and practiced solving questions together. In the awards ceremony we were thrilled to see the result of our hard work. We won second place in team problem solving and we were overall CHAMPIONS!!! We high fived each other and congratulated each other. We all tried our best. QSI Maths Olympiad puts people together and we developed our skills to communicate. I am sure that everyone there enjoyed the day whether you got a prize or not and if you didn't try next year! Last year my team didn't win anything but I tried this year again. Practice makes perfect!  Next year I will attend the maths competition again and hopefully win more prizes! Everyone interested in maths should come to Maths Club and go to maths competition and show off their skills! Maths competitions are fun! Solving maths is not boring . Well done my team!!! So proud of you!

Thank you

Bomin Ryu
