Reception learn all about the story of the Gruffalo

Over the last few weeks, Reception children have been learning about the story of the Gruffalo and using Talk 4 writing to retell the story.

Did you know that the mouse scared the Gruffalo when he told the Gruffalo that his favourite food was Gruffalo crumble? Well, wanting to find out what it tastes like the adventurous children in Reception made their own Gruffalo crumble!

To begin with we all read the recipe for Gruffalo crumble to find out the things we needed to put in. We wrote our own lists of the ingredients. Then we followed the instructions in order, we had to slice the banana, chop the apple and mix the crumble. We also had to use our maths skills to weigh some of the ingredients by making the scales balance. Making the crumble was fun, but eating the crumble was even better! It tasted delicious!
