Following this I spent six very happy years abroad at one of the largest international schools in Cairo, Egypt. Initially I took on the responsibility of
Literacy coordinator but was later promoted to the role of Deputy Head for the Curriculum which I held for three years before returning to the UK to refresh my knowledge and experience of the UK education system.
In London, I spent six years working in one of the country’s most successful schools and led the school’s development of sport with numerous successes at both local and national level. I also worked as part of the senior leadership team in my role as key stage co-ordinator.
Following the UK, I was offered the post of Assistant Head Teacher at the British International School of Moscow where I was fortunate enough to meet my partner, Meagan MacMaster.
After Russia, we decided to head for warmer climes and spent two exciting years in the tropics working at the British International School of Costa Rica where I took over as the International Primary Curriculum Coordinator and worked as a member of the Primary Leadership Team and as a Year 6 teacher.
Next came BISB where I was initially invited to coordinate the development of the curriculum. This role, which I fulfilled for two years, encompassed wider responsibilities as a member of the Primary Leadership Team. I am currently enjoying the challenge of teaching Year 6 as they prepare for their transition to the secondary school.
When I get a minute to myself I enjoy cooking, travel, surfing, scuba-diving, reading and playing the guitar very badly.
