- We kindly ask that parents stay in the playground in the mornings and encourage their child to come up to their classroom with their teacher and class.
- Homework will be given out on Wednesdays and expected in on Mondays. Last week the homework was optional and entries can be brought in.
- Registration for the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) is now open to adults and students. The HSK test will be held on Saturday 11 November 2017. Please see the attached registration form for information. Full documentation and payment for HSK test must be received by Monday 9 October 2017.
After our fantastic sculpture session linked to ‘Senses’ last week, the children will begin to learn more about one key body part this week. They will research basic facts and begin to construct them in to a non-fiction poster.

Numbers is the focus for mathematics this week. Last week we looked at different methods to add numbers; using objects, number lines and number squares. This week we will work on number patterns and finding missing numbers and working with the number line.

Our wonderful construction of body parts last week led to some great questions from the classes. To support our literacy work we will be investigating how body parts look in ‘real life’, what that specific organ does and how it works and helps the body.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING AND DIGITAL LITERACY
The children will continue to master the skill of logging themselves on and off of a computer or laptop. Now that the children are getting more comfortable with the using of basic hardware we can begin to look at digital art based software. The children will using Microsoft Paint to help them draw and label parts of the human body.

This week we will continue to learn about keeping our bodies healthy. We will focus on keeping safe when playing with our friends but our particular focus will be on basic hygiene such as washing hands after visiting the toilet and the spreading of germs.
