Head of Admissions

Originally from the UK, Gillian first came to China during her degree studies to undertake a one year management trainee programme in Beijing. Having completed her studies in International Hospitality Management, Gillian then moved to Scotland to begin her career in the travel industry. But with the desire to once again live and work abroad, Gillian moved to Switzerland in 2010 to work in enrollment and admissions for two top ranked hospitality management universities. During her time in Switzerland, Gillian had the opportunity to relocate to Shanghai for 3 months to support the admission of high school students from China to the universities in Switzerland.

Gillian’s link with China has always remained strong and she is excited to return here to work for a premium international school. Gillian really enjoys having the opportunity to support families relocating to Shanghai and being part of an international community. She is excited to work in a forward thinking and innovative environment with passionate educators.

In her free time Gillian hopes to explore more of China and the Asia region and being able to sample all of the wonderful cuisine on offer. Learning mandarin and playing netball are also some of the activities which Gillian plans to undertake. Having lived near the Swiss Alps, Gillian was a keen skier (but does not proclaim to be an expert!) and she hopes to continue to enjoy time on the slopes with a trip to the Japanese Alps!
