Staff Profile: Kristin Mckie

Head of Media Studies/English Teacher (KS3 Coord)

BA Journalism Studies, Edinburgh Napier University, UK

PGCEi (Distinction), University of Nottingham, UK

After university, Kirstin followed her passion for writing and research into a successful career in the Scottish media, working for local newspapers, and then national press and radio. During that time, she also developed and delivered broadcast media training to local and national government agencies, and worked closely with Scottish universities to assist students who wished to pursue a career in journalism. In later years, Kirstin was based in the Middle East, where she worked as a business writer and editor, primarily focused on multi-media publicity campaigns for national and global companies.

Following almost two decades working in media and communications, Kirstin studied for her PGCE while working at a British international school in Qatar as a Secondary English teacher and subject leader for Media Studies. She is extremely happy to be living and working in Ha Noi and in her spare time enjoys exploring the city’s culture and cuisine with her young family.
