We have been settling into our new class, welcoming back returning children and welcoming new children to our class. The children have been exploring the classroom and our EYFS garden. We are beginning to learn our new routines and the children have been amazing at listening and responding to the songs when we need to sit on the carpet or wash our hands or make a line.
They have enjoyed music when they have been listening to music and twirling scarves, shaking bells and tapping sticks. In Chinese the children have been singing the song about the tigers and taking turns to pretend to be the tigers. The children helped to mix the ingredients to make a delicious cake which they decorated with sprinkles, it was very yummy! The children have been using magnifying glasses to look closely at insects they have found outside. They have played in the water which was full of bubbles and washed the dinosaurs to make sure they were very clean. They also found the mirror stones and have been stacking them, making small towers.
In our EYFS garden the children discovered the sand pit and have been filling and emptying the buckets and wheeling the small diggers making patterns in the sand. There has been a lot of noise coming from our garden as the children have been making lots of different sounds banging and crashing the pots, pans and lids on our sound line! They have been cooking up a storm in the mud kitchen mixing and whisking to create some delicious mud pies.
