I completed my Master’s degree in Second Language Acquisition in Hamburg, Germany and as part of my degree, I lived and worked in Eritrea and Egypt as a German language assistant. I also spent my summers during my time at university teaching German to people of different ages. After university I had the incredible opportunity to teach University and IIT students in Mumbai, India from 2010 to 2011.
It was then that I decided to accept a new challenge in a local school in Abu Dhabi as a German Teacher. There I taught German as a Foreign Language to Primary and Secondary school children for four years. I joined Nord Anglia International School Dubai in 2015 and since then, I have had the opportunity to teach the Advanced Learners in Primary and Secondary, which I thoroughly enjoy.
My aim as a teacher is to create a positive, challenging, fun and interactive classroom environment that will help students succeed at becoming proficient in the German language as well as cross-cultural competencies. I strive to motivate my students towards a level of independence where they develop a desire to learn and think critically. I love to interact with my students and guide them through their learning process. My motto is to never stop learning and continue striving to improve. It is important to realise that teaching is full of surprises and new situations. One must be ready to adopt, react and discover new strategies.
Aside from my life as a teacher, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring the UAE. My passions include travelling, exploring new cultures and traditions, playing table-fussball and listening to music.
