I believe that we as teachers are charged with educating tomorrow’s global citizens and as such must deliver the highest standards of education, not only academically but socially and emotionally. We are all entitled to respect and I seek always to foster an environment that cultivates it but also one that encourages tolerance and understanding. I am an unashamed enthusiast of Early Years education. I enjoy being part of a process that enables children, whatever their ability, to reach their full potential. I have a very real understanding of the daily joys and frustrations of being a teacher and seek always to encourage and support all those who work in education.
I have traveled extensively for pleasure plus living and working in the UK, Shanghai China and Abu Dhabi U.A.E. and for the last 4 years in Dubai. My experiences in Shanghai, Abu Dhabi and Dubai have been as part of the founding staff in new schools. I have a keen sense of humour and a great sense of fun which has served me well in the past. I am down to earth, practical and very ‘hands-on,’ I have plenty of energy, enthusiasm and a passionate belief in Primary education. To this end with my continued enthusiasm to teach, this is going to serve me well as I continue my career as part of the Nord Anglia family.
Outside of school I enjoy entertaining family and friends. I am ticking off a few challenges, my greatest achievements have been to complete a 10k walk as part of the Great Wall marathon in China, I have climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge and flown in a helicopter over Abu Dhabi. Closer to home I was proud to become a great aunt for the third time last year! I read, walk, swim and love to travel, having encountered elephants in Chang Mai and camels in Abu Dhabi, cuddled koalas in Australia and peered at pandas in China. I am now looking forward to new and exciting opportunities ahead and perhaps to swim with the dolphins in Dubai.
