Leader of Personalised Learning (SENCO)

Since completing my Bachelor of Education degree in Primary Education, I have worn many hats, including that of a Senior Leader and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) for a primary school in the UK.

I have experience of working in both mainstream and special schools with students ranging from the Early Years to adolescents and young adults. I have vast experience of working with students with additional educational needs, which has ranged from and included students with learning difficulties, disabilities and those who were recognised as being gifted and talented.

I am committed to supporting the needs of every student at NAS Dubai and spent the last year implementing the personalised learning provision for our Early Years and Key Stage One students. I strive to create an environment that is stimulating, inclusive and fully supportive of all students allowing them to achieve their very best.

This year I will be leading the Personalised Learning Department for the whole school which will support our students from Nursery right through to Year 11. I am passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment, encouraging students to be motivated and helping them to experience success in their own unique way.  I pride myself in getting to know every student and tailoring strategies to support their individual needs, thereby ensuring that they are successfully accessing the curriculum and reaching their full potential.

To strengthen my knowledge and expertise in the role as SENCO, I have recently embarked on the National Award in SEN Coordination. When I am not studying for this, however, I enjoy experiencing the wonderful opportunities within the UAE, horse riding and basking in the glorious sunshine… which was a rarity whilst living in the UK!

Having been part of the founding team at NAS Dubai in 2014, I have been privileged to work with many wonderful students and their families throughout the school and I am looking forward to getting to know many more of you this year.
