I am originally from Cambridge in England. However, I have been lucky enough to have lived in many incredible places across the world including: Singapore, Hong Kong, Denmark and more recently Portugal. Harnessing these experiences enables me to highlight the importance of diversity, cultural understanding and internationalism in the classroom.
I am currently in my twelfth year of teaching and am fortunate to have taught in every Key Stage; therefore I have an excellent understanding of where the children are coming from and how to move them on in their learning. It is my belief that the classroom should be an organised and disciplined space, as this ensures that children can focus on doing their very best. Aiding the children to become independent learners and to persevere when faced with challenges is of the utmost importance to me. Learning however should also be fun, as nothing increases motivation more than enjoyment! Delivering creative and engaging lessons that help every individual to make progress is a priority.
During my spare time, I enjoy reading, travelling, playing team sports and spending time with my family, including my two year old son.
I am really looking forward to meeting my new class and am positive that we will have a successful year where every day we all have fun and learn something new!
