I was originally born in Germany, moving to the UK and residing in Scotland for the last 26 years. I grew up in the north of Scotland in a fishing village, spending the latter 8 years in Dundee. I frequently travel to Inverness to visit the family.
I have taught in primary schools in Dundee for 8 years across a range of stages, therefore understanding the progression of skills throughout the different stages of the primary school. Teaching is my passion and I strive to enable all children to reach their full potential by becoming confident individuals and successful learners. I have lead a range of development groups within Dundee schools, particularly in the progression of skills in Music, Reading, and Profiling. Learning is a lifelong adventure, it doesn’t stop after university.
I firmly believe that hard work is the key to success. This has been embedded in my own learning throughout my schooling, thereafter at the University of St Andrews where I achieved my German degree, and finally in my teaching qualification at the University of Strathclyde.
During my spare time I enjoy performing on stage – singing, playing the piano, and latterly have been learning to tap dance. Being from Scotland I do thoroughly enjoy Ceilidh dancing. I have a great interest in learning about new cultures and travelling and am very excited to be returning to Dubai after my visit three years ago.
I am really looking forward to meeting my new class and working together to have a positive, fun, exciting year where all children can be confident individuals achieving their full potential.
