Our dance program has been carefully designed to develop a well-rounded dancer who is familiar with and has student a broad spectrum of dance forms, including ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, musical theater, hip-hop and multicultural dance.
Academic classes may also cover choreography and dance history , to supplement students' practical experience and performance skills. Our faculty members are experienced dancers who are eager to share the joy of dance and their extensive knowledge with their students.
As they learn proper technique, students develop strength, flexibility and confidence, along with the discipline that comes from studying a performance art. The program develops students’ interest in creative performance and establishes a sense of teamwork and dedication. Dancers participate in several performances a year both on and off campus, gaining valuable experience in the realities of live performance.
As part of the Nord Anglia Education family, students at The Village School who are studying dance enjoy extraordinary opportunities beyond those provided by their school. These include access to special performances and guest lectures and workshops by some of the dance world's leading experts.
The video below shows the results of a workshop conducted by the esteemed Ailey Arts in Education with students at The Village School - just one of the many outstanding opportunities on offer through our dance program.
