For the past nine months, students from Nord Anglia Education schools all over the world have been working on advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (Global Goals), in particular Global Goals 2 and 3 - eradicating poverty and promoting health and well-being. This initiative is part of NAE’s Global Challenge that encourages students to take action on two goals a year.
Being ‘NAE Ambassadors’, our Head Students acted as representatives of Regents in discussions, presentations and debates; in order to share our school’s approach to tackling the two Global Goals locally and the impact we have made to our community.
This exclusive opportunity gave our Head Students, along with 85 other selected NAE students the chance to practice diplomacy and leadership in front of influential global figures including the President of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Peter Thomson; UNICEF’s Executive Director, Anthony Lake; and the UN Ambassadors for Bulgaria, Argentina and Malaysia.
In addition, this trip will give Osman and Saliha the chance to explore the busy streets of the Big Apple. In true New York style, the two will watch famous Broadway shows, visit museums and galleries, and enjoy a stroll through Central Park.
