Kirstie received her teaching degree at Leeds Trinity and All Saints in 2009. Since then, she has taught in a Catholic Primary School, teaching Year 3 for three years and Reception for three years. Kirstie has also had experience of teaching all ages of children in the primary sector throughout her career. As part of her teaching role, she also became the Religious Education co-ordinator, responsible for assessing, moderating and supporting colleagues with the teaching of RE across school.
Kirstie is passionate about teaching in the Early Years and believes that the whole child should be developed and nurtured and that their gifts and talents should be celebrated. Her philosophy and classroom ethos is centred on the belief that all children have the right to an enjoyable, relevant and inclusive education in a setting that promotes self-worth and respect for others.
In Kirstie’s spare time, she enjoys reading, horse riding, swimming and going to the gym. She also enjoys watching films and tries to go to the cinema as much as she can. A recent travelling adventure around South East Asia and Australia has enabled her to experience new cultures and ways of life that has inspired this new chapter of her life.
