Busy Place - Exciting Learning

After a busy week at work, you might imagine that the last place I would want to spend my weekend was at school. However, at BISS Puxi, the exciting learning experiences are not contained to the school day and most evenings and weekends, the school campus is bursting with life and activity.

Our Principal Writes

Every Wednesday I have the good fortune to meet with a range of students that have been nominated to receive a ‘Principal’s Commendation’. During the presentation of certificates I take the opportunity to discuss with them how they feel their studies are progressing, what challenges they face and how they are addressing their own development.

In the Name of Science – Ignore the Mess!

As parents we are very used to encouraging our children to read, supporting them with homework and running around ferrying them to sports events or music lessons. More creative parents might also bake or cook, or do arts and crafts activities.

Our Principal Writes

Learning to Learn

Most leaders that join an organisation focus acutely on their ‘First 100 Days’ since this is seen as a crucial period in which to get to know their new home. I have long believed that early in this period a school Principal should be in classes, getting to know students and teachers, since this is where our core ‘business’ takes place.
