    BISS Puxi Floods

A Message From Our Principal Regarding Yesterday’s Floods

Dear parents, Yesterday was a very memorable start to the school year, but certainly not for the reasons that anyone could have anticipated. Just like the rest of the population of West Shanghai, we were taken completely by surprise by an incredible rain storm that delivered as much as 156.1 millimetres of rain during the morning and early afternoon.

It’s Not Just About the Music

As our Global Orchestra students reflect on their incredible experience at the Juilliard School in New York, the trip has seen a blossoming friendship develop between two students from BISS Puxi and BISS Pudong. Leon Palmgren from BISS Puxi and Joung Jin Kim from BISS Pudong had never met before the trip but as two of the youngest participants in the Nord Anglia Education Global Orchestra programme, they’ve now become firm friends. The 16 hour flight from Hong Kong to New York meant the two students had plenty of time to get to know

    Singing in the Rain

New York has been experiencing the same wet weather as Shanghai recently with our Global Orchestra students having to perform their Up On The Roof concert in a school gym. This didn't ‘dampen’ spirits with the atmosphere warm, friendly and all of the students encouraging each other to perform their solos. The group has also been fortunate to view some of the sights of New York by spending 14 hours visiting Grand Central Station, Times Square, Central Park to name but a few. But it was time to get back to ‘work’ again with

Scoring Goals With Manchester United Football Club

From Saturday 27 June – Monday 29 June 2015, we were delighted to host the Manchester United Football Club Soccer School camp on our campus. Nearly 50 pupils attended the camp over the three days and were taught to play football, the Manchester United way. Pupils were divided into groups based on age with individual coaches focusing on five key traits Manchester United believe, are essential for young players to adopt if they wish to make it in professional football. BISS Students Making Music in New York

Our three students who are currently in New York attending the Global Orchestra programme are having a magnificent time. Since the group arrived in New York, they’ve been very busy in rehearsals preparing for the Nord Anglia Global Orchestra concert on 30 June at The DiMenna Center for Classic Music. The group has enjoyed some downtime however which included a memorable dinner at the Hard Rock Café when students and staff engaged in a spontaneous show of singing and dancing in between meals.
