- Raincoat - Please ensure that your child brings a raincoat to school for the wet weather.
- Swimming - Please be aware that the days are getting colder and wetter so please dress your child accordingly. On swimming days girls may wear dark leggings and matching dark socks instead of tights to make it easier for them to get dressed. A warm hat is also recommended.

LITERACY AND THEMED LEARNING
We will be combing our Literacy and Themed Learning lessons this week as we will be celebrating ‘Poetry Week’ and will be exploring the work of Quentin Blake, the famous illustrator and writer. We will be reading his book ‘Mister Magnolia’ and learning some of the phrases that he uses. We will then adapt these for our own writing and produce some lines of poetry for a Year 1 poetry book.
Poem, poet, author, illustrator, verse, phrase, rhyme, repeat
During our Maths lessons this week we will be looking at measure and the vocabulary that we use when describing how long things are. We will use cubes to find how long objects around the classroom are and then we will begin to accurately use a ruler to measure and record in centimetres. Once we have learned how to use centimetres we will try to make accurate estimations about the length of different objects.
