Our Student Councils

Listening to students is important to us, and we have two Student Councils to give our students a formal voice in matters that are important to them at school.
Our Primary School Council

The aim of our Primary School Council is to promote pupil voice in the wider school community and give children the opportunity to make a positive contribution and develop a sense of belonging.

At the beginning of every academic year, pupils are able to apply for a position as a school council representative. Following advertisements, applications are short listed before final interviews are held for the sort after positions. Then one representative is chosen per class from Key Stage Two.

Throughout the year school council will meet on a regular basis to discuss current school issues and work on important tasks set such as charity work and school competitions.

Our Secondary School Council

The Secondary School Council aims to provide a forum for students to represent the views of their peers in discussions with staff about issues that affect them.  Their input into such matters as food, homework, planners, charity events, uniform, student ID cards and many other things is an important part of keeping the school running smoothly.

Learning to work in a different way than normal with teachers and how to participate effectively as part of a group is invaluable educational experience too.
