Natalie studied at the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK and completed a BA(HONS) English with Qualified Teaching Status degree. She then moved to the Isle of Wight in the south of England and worked in a primary school for 10 years carrying out a range of responsibilities. Her roles during her time there consisted of teaching Early Years and Key Stage 1, leading Early Years, PE lead teacher, school sport coordinator for 3 other schools and working as part of the senior management team.
She moved to Shanghai 4 years ago with her family and has been teaching a Year 1 class at another International school. This experience has enabled her to work closely with students and families from different backgrounds and ensure that her classroom reflects this and allows all children to feel safe, happy and successful. She is thoroughly looking forward to her future at BISS Puxi and being able to develop professionally and personally with all the opportunities that it will offer her.
Natalie moved to Shanghai with her husband and 2 children in 2011 to start a new family adventure of working overseas, travelling and meeting new friends. It has been a rewarding experience and has given them many opportunities to do things they could never have done at home. Natalie is very family orientated and as a family they ensure that they spend as much quality time together as possible. They enjoy visiting new countries and travelling and playing together.
Natalie’s hobbies include watching and taking part in sport – for fun! She also loves to go out and sample different food, meet new people, however she is also happy to be in the house watching a movie with her family.
Natalie is motivated by the feeling of being able to make a difference to others and believes strongly that is why she has been successful as a teacher. She works hard to make sure learning is a purposeful and rewarding experience for everyone in the classroom. To see progress being made daily inspires her to work hard to allow each child to reach their potential and more.
