The next stage on her professional journey was to become a primary teacher in England, and later a successful headteacher of a large primary school in Stirling, Scotland for 12 years before coming to Shanghai. Along the route she also gained a post graduate qualification in leadership and a further Masters in Advanced Educational Studies.
Always on the lookout for the next challenge, a visit to Shanghai in the summer of 2012 planted the seed for the possibility of a return to international education. She is delighted to now be working at BISS Puxi, enjoying the variety of life in China and most of all getting to know and help the children learn.
Eleanor’s main interest is travel which she does as much as possible. She is delighted now to be Head of Primary at BISS Puxi and have the privilege of leading a team of teachers committed to ensuring the best education that our talented children deserve. She has been inspired by the people she has met and the experiences she has enjoyed, some of which have been quite nerve wracking!
A lover of the arts, she thinks there is no better place to be than in Edinburgh when the International Festival takes place every August. She regularly attends as many as 5 events in a day and thinks that even walking the streets at that time provides its own entertainment.
