Staff Profile: Nick Jones

Nick Jones

Year 2 Leader

Nick graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA Hons Degree in History. He then worked as a Teaching Assistant for one year in an inner-city school. This experience cemented his belief that primary teaching was the career path for him. As a result of this, he undertook a PGCE course in primary teaching at the University of Roehampton in London.

Upon graduating from this course Nick began his teaching career at a very large school in the centre of Bristol, England. During his time there he taught both in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and had a number of positions of responsibility including Head of Physical Education, whole school ECA co-ordinator, Healthy-Schools leader, Controller of the School Radio and Religious Education co-ordinator. In his six years at the school, the school was able to make the journey from ‘good to great.’ This achievement was recongised by OfSted when the school was rated ‘outstanding’ in every area.

Looking for a new challenge, Nick applied and was accepted for a teaching job at BISS Puxi and is in his second year of teaching in Year One. He is also Head of PSCHE and coaches the Rugby and Football teams.

Nick has many interests: photography, reading, swing dancing, collecting Vinyl records and vintage artefacts. He enjoys socialising with friends and exploring the vibrant city of Shanghai. He also enjoys travelling the world, meeting new people and discovering different cultures.

What the students say about me...
