Staff Profile: Emma Wakelin

Emma Jane Wakelin

Year 3 Leader

Emma attended the University of Aberdeen, gaining a Masters degree in Management Studies before going on to work as an inward investment and marketing officer in Kent. Having been involved in Teaching English to Foreign students, both at home and abroad throughout University, Emma decided on a change of career and sought employment at a small village school in South East England.

There, she completed her Graduate Training Programme in Primary Education and became a full-time classroom practitioner in March 2006. In 20011, Emma travelled to China during a holiday and on her return decided to combine her love of travel with education. She applied for a position in Shanghai and is now in her third year at BISS Puxi.

Emma has lots of different interests outside of school and especially enjoys travelling to new places during her spare time.  She frequently sets off exploring the villages and towns in the regions surrounding Shanghai, having never been to the Far East before moving from Kent. Emma also enjoys keeping fit, having recently joined Boxing and Heyrobics!

What the students say about me...

"I like the Minute Maths Miss Wakelin does with us to get our brains thinking".

"It is really great when we did Seaside Day with Miss Wakelin and made up our own Punch and Judy shows".

"Miss Wakelin has lots of things up in the classroom to help us".
