In addition, Rebecca also spent time spent working in various positions in Paris and Milan. After gaining her PGCE Rebecca taught for four years in a Business and Enterprise college in the UK followed by two years in a large international school in Cairo. Having thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working in an international school she decided to move to Asia and is delighted to be in her second year in the Business and Economics department at BISS Puxi.
Rebecca aims to ensure that students learn the content of the courses she teaches in a positive learning environment. She believes it is essential that all students work within a safe learning environment where they are encouraged to celebrate their achievements and also to overcome any learning difficulties they may have. She hopes to foster critical thinking and give students the ability to become independent, confident learners. She believes that it is also essential to prepare students to function effectively as a member of their society and individual communities. Her professional development training has enabled her to create an active learning environment within her classroom. She frequently uses role play, discussion and collaborative learning as part of the lesson structure. Working within an environment where exam performance centers so highly, it is essential to develop life- long problem solving and thinking skills in order to effectively support any knowledge gained.
Rebecca’s formative years were spent in Saudi Arabia with her family where she attended an international school. The opportunity of living within an international community has given her a love of travel and an insight into different cultures and attitudes. She loves reading and keeping fit. She also enjoys visiting new places and is keen to take opportunities whilst in China.
