Terry Fox Run for charity
The annual Terry Fox run is just around the corner! We won’t be holding an event at our school this year, however we will be going to the Corniche to participate in the city-wide event.
We would like to encourage anyone who is free to come and join, including students, their families, and staff. This is an incredible event and a great charity and it will be a wonderful way to spend a beautiful, sunny day.

Year 2 Ice Day
Yesterday Year 2 celebrated ICE DAY. The weather was perfect, creating the wind swept, cool climate of the Polar Regions for us and enabled all the penguins, Artic hares, foxes, Orcas, snowmen, snow royalty and explorers better conditions for survival.

National Day Preparations
You may have noticed that the school has undergone a transformation this week as we prepare for our National day celebrations. Safeguarding Our Children
Following on from my weblog posting on 27th October, we are constantly reviewing our health and safety procedures in line with good practice. Additionally we take the safeguarding of our children at all times as our highest priority. Earlier in the week we carried out a routine fire drill with our students to make them well aware of the need to evacuate the building when the alarm goes off.

Author Visits: Ian Billings and Chris Bradford
We are very excited and privileged to be welcoming two authors to the school next week. On Monday 20th October 2014, children’s author Ian Billings will be visiting the school. Ian Billings is an accomplished writer for children’s television (including Chucklevision). The following day on Tuesday 21st October 2014, Chris Bradford (author of Young Samurai and BODYGUARD) will also visit the school and run a series of presentations for Secondary students.
