Yesterday Year 2 celebrated ICE DAY.

The weather was perfect, creating the wind swept, cool climate of the Polar Regions for us and enabled all the penguins, Artic hares, foxes, Orcas, snowmen, snow royalty and explorers better conditions for survival.

It was an action packed day from start to finish.  The children created penguins applying their painting and cutting skills.  Next they wrote postcards detailing their experience in Artic conditions, using linking to create content and practicing their sentence writing.  Then they acted out a drama, analyzing the polar bear cub’s problem, finding solutions and creating a map and animal behavior actions.  They were all hard at work in the icy conditions and showed wonderful enthusiasm and motivation throughout the day.

Just look at the thinking and happy expressions in the photographs attached.
