Here are five book-related websites you didn't know you needed:

1. Fantastic Fiction is the number one recommended place to figure out series information.  It is organised with series books grouped together, publication dates, and often book covers. If you are looking for the next book in the series, check them out.
2. Publishers Weekly is THE trade magazine for publishing in the commercial (non-academic) world.  Right now, they are offering free access to their digital magazine.  Publisher's Weekly keeps data on titles and trends.  While I don't always agree with them, it is interesting to check out their yearly Best Books.  Click here to see the lists for 2019.
3. Often the most important people get left out of book festivals - the readers!  On 1st and 2nd May1, The Everywhere Book Fest is bringing book fairs to you digitally.  I was especially thrilled to see them hyping a panel of Korean authors on Twitter.  
4. The United Kingdom has the Kate Greenaway Award (picture books) and Carnegie Award (chapter books). This is UK award season!  Check out their website for a list of the best books of 2019.  Buying one of these is a pretty good bet that you are getting something of quality. 
5. The American Library Association has the Newbery Awards for Children's literature (chapter books) and Caldecott (for picture books). The awards for the year were presented at a conference in January.
