Meet Enora Le Moal, Class of 2022 IB Diploma Graduate Enora joined the BIS Abu Dhabi family in Year 9, and after five fabulous years at the school she has now graduated with a score of 40 points out of 45 in the IB Diploma Programme. This is an outstanding achievement placing her in the top 10% of IB Diploma candidates worldwide.

Enora joined the BIS Abu Dhabi family in Year 9, and after five fabulous years at the school she has now graduated with a score of 40 points out of 45 in the IB Diploma Programme. This is an outstanding achievement placing her in the top 10% of IB Diploma candidates worldwide.

After receiving her results, Enora said “My first reaction was relief as I was hoping to get at least 40 points and I am pleased with my results.”

Enora has decided to take a gap year before heading to university. “I decided to take a gap year as I am still unsure what I want to study at university. I have so many passions making it hard for me to choose which one I wanted to follow to build my dream career. This year, I intend to travel a lot alone, explore those passions and learn new skills to truly find out what I want to do when I grow up. I also intend to take this time to learn more about myself and relax after completing the IB Diploma Programme.” Said Enora.

When her gap year is over, what will Enora study? “I may study Ecology or a degree course in relation to the arts (e.g., photography). Ecology is one option because I have always loved animals and wanted to take care of them. I want to make a difference in the natural world even though I am still unsure how I am going to do that, I thought that Ecology would be a great way to start since it is such a broad subject. My love for nature and animals is very deep and I hope that they become a part of my life when I grow older. I also hope to travel to beautiful places all around the world and experience unforgettable moments.” replied Enora.

When asked how she felt completing the IB Diploma Programme will support her university application and beyond, Enora replied: “I think completing the IB Diploma Programme was especially useful in the ways that it challenged me. It tested my patience, work ethic, and creativity. I think that completing the Extended Essay and the Internal Assessments will be the most beneficial for university. They taught me to persevere through long-term projects as well as improved my research skills which are great skills to take into university and beyond.”

Enora made the most of her time at BIS Abu Dhabi whilst completing the IB Diploma Programme. As part of the Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) component she learned sign language, went scuba diving, climbing, created her own Youtube channel, learned to play the guitar, and completed regular workout routines.

When asked to share a fond memory from her time at the school, Enora said: “I have so many fond memories with my friends Salem and Aylin. But I must say that one of my fondest would be one of the biology presentations that I made with my group during my IGCSEs. One of my classmates had added really complex bacteria names as part of the presentation and was struggling to say their names in front of the class. Moreover, I was extremely nervous because I dislike presenting. As a result of the mispronunciation of the bacteria names and my nerves, I burst out laughing during the presentation, so hard that my abdominals hurt, and I was crying in front of the class. My friend Aylin, who was also presenting in my group, saw me and started laughing too, which made me laugh even more. I used to dread presentations because I never considered myself a confident public speaker, that is why I love this memory; it is one of the few presentations that I really enjoyed.”

What will she miss? “I will really miss my teachers and peers. They are such great people, and I am so grateful to have known them all. I wish them so much happiness in the future. They have all taught me so much and for that, I am grateful to all of them. The most important lesson that I learned during the IB Diploma Programme is that in life, it is important to have fun and to stop taking everything so seriously.” Said Enora.

Enora hopes to become an artist or work for an animal rescue organisation once she has completed her studies, we are sure she will make a difference in the world whatever she decides to do. Congratulations, Enora!
