Healthy Snacks and Lunches at School
To promote active learning and development, the children are requested to bring in a fruit snack to share every day. Adults at school help the children chop, clean and prepare the fruit to share with the class.
We recommend sending a healthy lunch from home including a piece of fruit, a sandwich or a rice dish, or parents can also purchase school lunches. Students have lunch in their classroom. Children have access to water at all times.
Please do not send in canned drinks, sugary snacks, crisps or cakes for lunch as students will not be allowed to eat/drink them at school.
Birthdays are a significant milestone in any child’s life especially at this early stage. We love celebrating birthdays and welcome parents to join us in the class to share some treats that we will have made with the children in our EL kitchen. To ensure that they feel special, we will sing songs for them, make a hat and a card and generally make a big fuss of them.
We ask, however, that large cakes and groups of people are not brought into school at these times and that goodie bags are not sent in. This causes pressure on the other families in the setting.
