Angela Botero

Deputy Head of Primary and PYP Coordinator

Angela has a BA in Literature. She then completed her post graduate studies as an Educational Psychologist and has a Master’s degree in Managerial skills. She has worked in various international schools as Primary teacher, PYP Coordinator and Head of Primary.

Angela started her journey as a primary teacher in 1985, and was appointed as Head of Primary after teaching for 10 years. 

In 2005 her interest and passion for the IB started, and she was appointed as a PYP coordinator in an international school in Bogotá and three years later, she moved to The English School an international school of British tradition.

In 2008 Angela was trained by the IB as an IB PYP educator and she is currently a workshop leader, site visitor and consultant. She has been a PYP Coordinator for 15 years and she has led the authorization process of two schools, leading initial IB authorization process and two subsequent five-year review process, all of which were successful.

Angela is married with two children, her eldest, María, is an MYP teacher while her other child, Camilo, is studying linguistics. Angela’s husband is a university professor and film maker.
