Laurie Joynt has a Bachelor of Education degree and has been teaching for 12 years, 6 of which have been at international schools. She has taught multiple year groups including Year 2, 4 and 7.

  • Bachelor of Education degree from Fort Hare University

After studying to get her bachelor’s degree in Education, Laurie taught at a prestigious school in East London, South Africa for 6 years. She taught year 7 and was involved in coaching many different sports.

After gaining experience she left South Africa to embark on a new adventure. She joined Yew Chung International school in Qingdao, China where she taught Year 2 for two years. While in Qingdao, she started the after-school swimming program.

Laurie then transferred to the Yew Chung international school in Shanghai where she taught Year 2 as well as Year 4 for four years. Again, she started the first competitive swimming team at the school.

Laurie loves to participate in water sports, her favourites being waterpolo and swimming. She loves to travel and scuba dives as often as possible. She is looking forward to the new adventure that awaits her in Cambodia and cannot wait to meet her new class as well as her colleagues.
