• Can my child join at any time?

  Yes! We accept applications all year round and your child can start at any time during the academic year. Our staff are experts at helping new students settle in, integrate into their classes, and make friends.
• What curriculum do you teach?

  We’re the only school in Madrid to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme in English all the way through from 3 to 18 years of age. This comprises:

  • Primary Years Programme (PYP): Ages 3 to 11
  • Middle Years Programme (MYP): Ages 11 to 16
  • Diploma Programme (IBDP): Ages 16 to 18
    
    

  All subjects are taught in English, with the exception of specialist language lessons.

• What is play-based learning?

  At ICS Madrid, we have designed a wide variety of playful early childhood activities to nurture our preschoolers’ cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth. Examples of purposeful play and their benefits include:

  • Pretend play: Role-playing as animals, superheroes, or family members (develops creativity and social skills).
  • Sensory play: Playing with sand or water (develops fine motor skills and sensory awareness).
  • Outdoor play: Running, climbing, and ball games (develops physical coordination and social skills).
  • Arts and crafts: Drawing, painting, and crafting (develops creativity and fine motor skills).
  • Music and movement: Singing, dancing, and playing instruments (develops coordination and self-expression).
  • Social play: Group games like hide-and-seek (develops communication and teamwork).
  • Reading and storytelling: Listening to stories or making up their own (develops language and imagination).
• Do you provide lunch?

  Yes, our school cafeteria prepares tasty, nutritious lunches every day. We offer a variety of local and international options and cater for a range of dietary requirements and allergies. Your child may also choose to bring a packed lunch from home.
• Do you run a bus service?

  Yes, our safe and reliable private buses offer a door-to-door pick-up and drop-off service that covers residential areas around Madrid.
• What extracurricular activities do you offer?

  We offer more than 70 extracurricular clubs, which will give your child every opportunity to do what they love. From sports and creative arts to science and music, our enrichment programme encourages our students of all ages to showcase their talents and pursue new passions.
• What nationalities are represented at your school?

  Our vibrant international community is home to children and families from more than 70 countries. Approximately one-third of our student population is Spanish.
• Where is your campus?

  Our school is located in the exclusive La Moraleja community, 10 minutes north of Madrid. This provides a quiet and secure sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city.
