Our globally respected curricula – created by world-leading education experts – reimagines learning through our six core pillars.
Academic excellence
Your child will love learning at International College Spain. On our creative, challenging, and truly global International Baccalaureate programme, our students achieve remarkable academic, personal, social, and emotional success.
Academic excellence

At ICS, our students enjoy a truly global education. We’re the only school in Madrid to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) in English from the age of 3 all the way through to 18. We’ve been doing this for more than 40 years, too. This guarantees your child will benefit from an expertly curated curriculum, an incredible array of learning experiences, and the highest standards of teaching.

At each stage of their IB education – from our Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) through to the IB Diploma (IBDP) – your child will learn in new and extraordinary ways, as well as exploring the subjects they’re passionate about. We strive to develop curious, confident, happy children from an early age, too, by filling our PYP with play, discovery, and a sense of wonder.

Our curriculum, for example, is enhanced by innovative collaborations with The Juilliard School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which offer exclusive access to the world’s best performing arts and STEAM programmes. Your child can also learn multiple languages, including Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, and Korean, as well as French and German.

Pursuing passions and learning in a way that works for them inspires our students to outstanding success. In 2022, our collective IBDP points score of 36 was significantly higher than the global average. And with 1 in 3 getting 40 points or more – and three achieving perfect scores of 45 – our school is a place where students’ hard work and talent shine brightly.

Alongside world-leading academic results, our IB programme is designed to develop the skills your child will need in the future. These include public speaking opportunities that build confidence, group projects that encourage teamwork, and challenges that push them to think critically and creatively.

This approach ensures our students leave us as confident young adults, ready to create their own futures. This includes continuing their education at the very best universities, such as Cambridge and University College London, as well as Ivy League institutions like Harvard and Stanford.

World's best teachers
Caring, inspirational, and fully committed to your child’s all-round development, our teachers are among the best in the world. They bring a wealth of international experience and qualifications to our classrooms, and transform learning in extraordinary ways.
The world's best teachers

At International College Spain, your child will be inspired, guided, and empowered by the very best. Every member of our talented teaching team is carefully chosen; they hold internationally recognised qualifications and have a wealth of specialist International Baccalaureate (IB) subject and age group experience. Many are also qualified IB Diploma examinators, moderators, trainers, and inspectors. The quality of our staff is felt in our classrooms – and seen in our excellent IB results.

Hailing from across the world, our exceptional educators create a thriving multicultural environment where everyone is included. As well as speaking perfect English, our teachers drive the truly international education we provide, embedding global elements in and beyond the curriculum.

In small class sizes, your child will receive the personalised care and attention they need to flourish. Our teachers really get to know each student, understanding their learning needs and preferences, as well as their passions, skills, and hopes for the future. Our parents agree: 92% say their child has a great relationship with their teacher.

It’s important our teachers are ambitious learners, too. We offer unmatched opportunities for them to develop and grow, supported by accreditation from the best training organisations.

On the award-winning Nord Anglia University platform, staff study for hundreds of courses each year and share innovations with fellow educators across the world. Being part of the International Baccalaureate Organisation network provides bespoke training and resources, as well as access to innovation from 5,000 schools worldwide. Every one of our teachers has a unique personal development plan, too. This guarantees our students receive the highest quality education.

Advanced learning environments
Ideally located in a quiet residential community, only 10 minutes from the centre of Madrid, our campus has everything your child needs to learn, discover, and grow. ICS is surrounded by ample green areas, fantastic sports facilities, and energising creative spaces that will inspire our students to achieve great things.
Advanced learning environments

With its warm, vibrant atmosphere, plentiful outdoor spaces, and excellent facilities, our campus is the perfect place for your child to learn. Our parents agree: 96% say our school provides a stimulating environment for their child.

Our school is situated in the exclusive La Moraleja community to the north of Madrid, offering a peaceful sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lots of our families live in the area, too, creating a real village feel. As well as being easily accessible by public transport, we also run a dedicated bus service from popular residential areas across Madrid.

On campus, a 400-seat auditorium, purpose-built music and drama studios, and intimate historical performance space unlock our students’ creativity, enabling them to flourish physically, artistically, and intellectually. And on our football pitches, running track, tennis courts, and in our gyms, young athletes get active, try new things, and compete against their friends and other schools.

Specialist teachers ignite imaginations in our science labs, design and technology suite, and primary STEAM Maker Space, bringing learning to life in extraordinary ways. In our primary and secondary libraries – which are stocked with more than 17,000 books – students read, research and study with friends. And when it’s time to recharge, relax, and recalibrate, three hectares of natural spaces – including gardens and dedicated early years play areas – provide the fresh air and calming environment our students need.

Exceptional learning experiences
The global education we offer at International College Spain extends far beyond the classroom. Through a myriad of outstanding learning experiences – from international trips to sports tournaments, the arts, and STEAM – your child will develop the skills and knowledge they need for the future.
Exceptional learning experiences

Every child’s learning experience at ICS is unique. We offer an incredible breadth of opportunities – both in and outside the classroom – that enable our students to do what they love. Our caring, inclusive community is also the perfect place to try new things.

We encourage creativity and self-expression, and the arts will form an integral part of your child’s experience. Our collaboration with The Juilliard School, the world’s leading performing arts conservatory, offers the highest quality music, drama, and dance education, setting our students up for the international stage. We’ll also support your child to learn an instrument and join one of our many orchestras, bands, or choirs.

Innovation is at the heart of our approach to science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEAM) learning, which is enhanced by Nord Anglia’s collaboration with MIT. Through challenges set by MIT professors, our students become creative problem-solvers, challenge the norm, and work together to build a better world.

Every year, our secondary students go on local, national, and international trips, including to Tanzania, Switzerland, and Andorra, which build their confidence and leadership skills, and open their eyes to the world around them. And on our primary outdoor learning programme, younger students take risks in a controlled environment, learn to appreciate the natural world, and become increasingly independent.

We also offer more than 60 extra-curricular activities. From Capoeira, creative writing, and circus skills to app design, flamenco, and horseback riding, our extensive programme will give your child innumerable opportunities to follow their interests and discover new passions.

In everything they do, your child’s wellbeing comes first. Our highly qualified counsellors work with form tutors to provide the support our students need to overcome challenges, bounce-back from adversity, and look after their physical and mental health.

The Nord Anglia Education family
ICS is an international school in the truest sense. Home to students, parents, and staff from more than 70 countries, we’re a vibrant community where everyone is welcome. We’re also connected to Nord Anglia Education schools worldwide, creating extraordinary opportunities across the globe.
The Nord Anglia Education family

Our warm and caring international community is truly special. As one of the most diverse schools in Madrid, we pride ourselves on being a place where everyone is welcome. Your child will feel at home from the moment they step on to our campus, able to confidently express themselves, follow their passions, and achieve more than they ever thought possible.

We celebrate the diversity of our community throughout the year. Activities marking Mother Language Day, International Children’s Day, International Religions Day, Dia de los Muertos, Hannukah, Diwali, and Chinese New Year, for example, give our students an appreciation of different cultures, histories, and customs, as well as instilling a global mindset.

We also have an amazing Parent Association who help families settle into our school and city. You’ll be invited to coffee mornings, connect with other parents via WhatsApp, and join us for community celebrations.

Being part of the Nord Anglia Education family means there are no borders to our students’ education. On our Global Campus learning platform, your child will take on challenges and learn in exciting ways alongside friends across the world.

Our students also take part in regional and international Nord Anglia events, including sports tournaments, STEAM festivals, and creative performances. In doing so, they make meaningful global connections and develop lasting cross-cultural friendships.

Our social purpose
Our students care about the world and want to change it for the better. At ICS, your child will embrace our culture of helping others and make a real difference in school, the local community, and across the globe.
Our social purpose

From an early age, we encourage our children to think about how they can make the world a better place. In the process, they gain new perspectives on important issues, broaden their horizons, and develop a host of transferable skills.

We’re proud to be part of the fabric of our local community, La Moraleja. Our students take part in projects ranging from litter clean-ups and tree-planting to events celebrating Earth Day. Alongside children of all ages – as well as our brilliant families – they learn the importance of coming together to create a healthier and more sustainable world.

Our students also raise money and awareness for local charities. Whether it’s sourcing supplies for an animal rescue shelter, raising funds to buy sleeping bags for people without a home, or collecting essentials for families in need, our students learn that selfless actions can have a tangible impact. These experiences also demonstrate our students’ empathy, compassion, and determination, as well as strengthening their university applications.

Globally, your child will learn about the challenges facing our planet – and take action to address them. One of the ways they’ll do this is through our exclusive collaboration with UNICEF. Your child will explore global issues – including climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals – through debates, global challenges, and eye-opening trips. Getting involved in Model United Nations events encourages them to think and act like world-changers, too.

In school, we offer countless leadership opportunities, including a Primary Student Council and a Secondary Ambassador Programme. These young leaders represent their friends with pride and actively drive change on campus, including improving our environmental sustainability.
