  • Can my child join at any time?
    Yes! We accept applications all year round and your child can start at any time during the academic year. Our staff are experts at helping new students settle in, integrate into their classes, and make friends.
  • Does my child need to take a test before they join?
    Yes, your child will sit an assessment as part of our admissions process. We may also invite them to an interview with our Principal. This ensures they can access our academically rigorous IB programme, as well as giving us an understanding of any learning needs and preferences.
  • How long does the admissions process take?
    From the moment you get in touch with us to the offer of a place, our admissions process can, in most cases, take just a few days. Timings do vary, though, as each family’s application journey is different. Please get in touch with our admissions team to find out more.
  • What curriculum do you teach?

    We’re the only school in Madrid to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme in English all the way through from 3 to 18 years of age. This comprises:

     

    Primary Years Programme (PYP): Ages 3 to 11.

     

    Middle Years Programme (MYP): Ages 11 to 16.

     

    Diploma Programme (IBDP): Ages 16 to 18.

     

     

    All subjects are taught in English, with the exception of specialist language lessons.

  • What size are your classes?
    Your child will learn in small classes of between 16 and 22 students, with an average teacher-student ratio of 1 to 9. This ensures they receive the one-to-one support and attention they need to flourish.
  • What nationalities are represented at your school?
    Our vibrant international community is home to children and families from more than 70 countries. Approximately one-third of our student population is Spanish.
  • What are your academic results like?
    Our combination of academic rigour, personalised support, and unique global experiences – delivered in a caring community – sees our students achieve remarkable success. For the past five years, our IB Diploma students have achieved a 100% pass rate.
  • Which universities do your students go to?
    Our students’ outstanding IB Diploma success takes them to the very best universities in the UK, US, and Europe. Destinations include University College London, Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, and Stanford.
  • What languages do you teach?
    Language learning is an essential part of life at ICS. A truly international school, we welcome students who speak many different languages. Our curriculum recognises the importance of a strong native language as a base for learning. That’s why, in secondary, we offer more than 20 mother tongue languages, including Hebrew, Arabic, German, Italian, Korean, Japanese, and Portuguese.
  • How do you support children for whom English isn't their first language?
    We offer personalised English as an Additional Language (EAL) programmes for students who need extra help with their speaking, reading, and writing. These are designed around individual needs and delivered either one-to-one, in small groups, or in lessons. We cater for all age groups, from Grades 1 to 12. Please get in touch with our admissions team to find out more.
  • Do you provide lunch?
    Yes, our school cafeteria prepares tasty, nutritious lunches every day. We offer a variety of local and international options and cater for a range of dietary requirements and allergies. If they prefer, your child can bring a packed lunch from home.
  • Do you run a bus service?
    Our safe and reliable private buses offer a door-to-door pick-up and drop-off service that covers residential areas around Madrid.
  • Do your students wear a uniform?
    Due to the diverse cultural backgrounds of our students, we don’t have a school uniform. However, they do wear a comfortable PE kit to take part in sports.
  • What extra-curricular activities do you offer?
    We offer more than 70 extra-curricular clubs, which will give your child every opportunity to do what they love. From sports and creative arts to science and music, our enrichment programme encourages our students to showcase their talents and pursue new passions.

    Our school is located in the exclusive La Moraleja community, 10 minutes north of Madrid. This provides a quiet and secure sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city.
