Xing has the honour of being the first student of Léman to have been offered a place at one of the world’s most famous universities. Oxford University is almost 1000 years old making it the oldest university in the English-speaking world. As Oxford is rated by QS as number 4 in the world and by The Times as number 1, it is a notoriously hard university to be accepted in as a student. In order to do this, Xing had to endure an extremely difficult special entrance exam and had to go over to the UK for an in-depth interview. A degree from Oxford University is highly sought after and as such, we can expect to hear great news from Xing in the future.

In his time at Léman, Xing has excelled in everything he has done, here are just a few of his accomplishments:

  • Using his height to his advantage, he has served as a goalie on the School football team.

  • Height is also a useful advantage when you are a member of the school’s Basketball and Volleyball teams too.

  • Xing was part of the LIS Volleyball team which won first place at ACAMIS in 2019.

  • Xing has shown leadership in many areas of the school such as motivating younger students to excel themselves in the GO Club which Xing says has had a strong influence in his life.

  • He has represented Léman at Nord Anglia’s Model United Nations conference in the past whilst being responsible for the technical aspects of the Conference hosted by this school last year.

Xing’s level-headed, calm, brave, and collaborative nature has been one of the binding forces for this class throughout their time at Léman, his presence will undoubtedly be missed by all.

All these varied accomplishments will serve Xing as he embarks into a new chapter in his life. We would all like to wish Xing the best of luck for his future and we look forward to hearing about his continued successes.
