Prize Giving - Prize Giving

As we come to the end of an another academic year, we have celebrated all students in the last two weeks with summer concerts and prize giving.  All students have worked hard throughout the year and have received recognition in many different ways such as the chance to perform on stage, stars of the week and house point winners, as well as winners in our internal and global Nord Anglia competitions.

We give awards for 3 categories at our annual end of year prize giving: attainment, achievement and endeavour in years 1-6. In each class there is 1 award for each of the three areas.

Our attainment award is typically given in recognition of an individual for achieving a particular level of skill or knowledge. Attainment awards are given to students who have achieved a high level of academic success, such as earning a certain level of learning or assessment score. In sports, attainment awards may be given to athletes who have achieved a particular milestone, such as scoring a certain number of points or breaking a record.

The Endeavour Award refers to an award that recognises students who have demonstrated exceptional effort, perseverance, and dedication in pursuing their academic goals. The award may be given to students who have overcome significant challenges or obstacles, shown significant improvement in their academic performance, or made a positive impact on their school or community through their hard work and dedication.

The Endeavour Award is intended to encourage and motivate students to pursue their academic goals with dedication and perseverance, and to recognise the hard work and dedication of students who may not necessarily be at the top of their class, but who have demonstrated exceptional effort and determination in their academic pursuits.

Our third award is our achievement award. An achievement award is a recognition given to an individual or a group for achieving a specific accomplishment or milestone.

In academics, an achievement award may be given to students who have achieved a high level of academic success, such as earning a certain assessment grade or winning a competition, or completing a challenging research.

Overall, achievement awards serve as a way to recognise and celebrate individuals or groups who have put in the hard work, dedication, and effort necessary to achieve excellence in their chosen field. They can serve as a source of motivation and inspiration for others to strive for excellence and pursue their goals with determination and perseverance.

Although not all students can be winners every year, we believe that in giving these annual awards, it gives students an aim not matter how academically successful they are. It is about celebrating all aspects of school life. Our awards are chosen by class teachers, as they observe the students from day 1, and know your children the best. Our specialist awards are given but our specialist teams, who talk together about all three areas of progress, and decide upon 1 student per subject for upper and 1 student for lower primary.

We wish everyone a restful and peaceful summer, and look forward to our return in August when we will have many surprises in store for a new academic year!
