Cross-country running is a special tradition at Léman International School Chengdu. Our autumn season is defined by student-athletes actively discovering their resilience on their second lap through the bamboo forest trail. We are blessed with our sprawling campus to be able to offer premium running experiences to student-athletes from all over China.

With training experiences through our rigorous PHE program, the entire Léman community looks forward to the annual House Cross-Country (X-C) run. Every student from EYFS to DP runs in friendly competition but also to win all-important House Points! Across all age groups, our White Tigers finished first, followed by Blue Dragons, Red Phoenix and Black Tortoise pushing the pace behind them.

We are so proud to present the best X-C course in China. Our challenging terrain combined with our unique bamboo forest trail is unmatched. We train and develop our runners for success but value the competitive experience and relationship-building of young runners above all else. At the CISA X-C competition, our Léman Red Pandas represented with class. Finishing with 12 overall medals, including Gold for Axel L., Stephen Mc. and Eason W., our Léman Red Pandas X-C team showed that they will not be denied.

ACAMIS X-C is at a completely different level. Student-athletes from all over China are welcomed to this invitational event and Léman was honoured to host 11 school teams and 125 runners all the way from Dalian in the north to Hong Kong and Macau from the south.

In a national-championship event, we were so proud of Ema N. for for her 4th place finish in the U14 Girls’ race and Eason W. for finishing 7th in a race of over 40 U14 Boys. X-C running is a unique sport for its personal focus, but the team aspect is also so important. Student-athletes support and motivate each other through months of training and push each other on race day. Our Red Pandas’ collective effort earned the 2nd place finish in the overall team competition of the 2023 ACAMIS X-C Invitational. Léman International School Chengdu truly values our ability to host impactful events and to support our student-athletes with the drive to realize their potential.

The support from our community to provide this premium experience for our guests was incredible. Our brilliant LFA organization provided healthy snacks and drinks for all competitors and coaches. Proudly, our entire staff came out to volunteer on race day to marshal the course, time and tabulate results, host our guests for a formal banquet and our awards ceremony in our iconic Fusion theatre.

ACAMIS X-C Invitational 2023 was a rousing success and we look forward to running it back in 2024!

It’s always a great day to be a Red Panda.
