
The 2025 World Scholar's Cup (WSC) Chengdu Regional Round recently concluded successfully. As one of the world's most influential academic competitions, this regional event gathered outstanding students from various places to compete on the same stage.
Three students from Léman International School Chengdu - Thwin Htoo, Thu Ta and Fiona S. - participated and ultimately won an impressive 21 medals (14 gold and 7 silver) with their solid knowledge reserve, excellent teamwork and on-the-spot adaptability, successfully qualifying for the 2026 WSC Global Rounds!

Known as the "Academic Olympics", the World Scholar's Cup includes core segments such as Scholar's Bowl, Scholar's Challenge, and Team Debate, comprehensively testing students' interdisciplinary knowledge reserve, logical thinking, and collaborative expression abilities. In this Chengdu Regional Round, Léman students demonstrated extraordinary strength in all segments, wowing the audience:
Scholar's Bowl: 3 Gold Medals
In the intense time-limited answering session, the students responded calmly with quick thinking and solid knowledge, showing strong on-the-spot reaction.
Champion Scholars: 2 Gold Medals
An honor recognizing overall academic literacy and comprehensive performance. The students stood out in the group with their balanced strengths across all competition segments.
Challenge Medals: 3 Gold & 5 Silver Medals
Covering six disciplines including science, history and art, the students demonstrated a solid academic foundation with extensive knowledge and accurate judgment.
Debate Champions: 2 Gold & 1 Silver Medal
In three rounds of thematic debates, the students constructed arguments accurately and expressed clearly, with both logical thinking and listening & feedback abilities.
Writing Champions: 1 Gold Medal
An individual writing task requiring critical thinking and expressive writing. The student crafted a well-structured, insightful essay, showcasing strong written communication skills.
Team Challenge: 1 Silver Medal
A collaborative task testing team coordination and problem-solving abilities. The team worked seamlessly together to tackle challenges, demonstrating excellent teamwork.
Team Debate: 1 Gold Medal
A team-based debate segment emphasizing strategic collaboration.
Team Writing: 1 Gold Medal
A group writing task focusing on collaborative creation. The students integrated their ideas effectively, producing a high-quality written work that reflected their collective wisdom.
Global Qualifiers: 1 Gold Medal & 1 Trophy
A top honor recognizing exceptional overall performance, directly securing qualification for the 2026 WSC Global Rounds and symbolizing their outstanding strength in the regional competition.
