A Wave of Recent Students’ Achievements

Recently, exciting news has been coming in as our students continue to achieve remarkable success in various academic competitions. Each accomplishment reflects their dedication, talent, and the school’s commitment to nurturing excellence. 

Our Year 11 student, JIAMING H. (Jeremy), has been awarded the Global Distinction (Second Prize) in the 2025 Australian Science Olympiad – Biology (ASOB), placing him among the top 20% worldwide. The ASOB aims to assess participants’ problem-solving abilities in biology, emphasizing students’ interest and creativity in the subject. It challenges and stimulates their intellect while showcasing the richness and value of biology. Let us congratulate Jeremy on this remarkable achievement! 

Our students also achieved remarkable results in the 2025 ESU Youth Public Speaking Competition. Year 8B LOUISE M. and Year 6B NIKOL S. both won Gold, Year 4B SHAOWEI P. and Year 2A YUNZHI G. earned Silver, and Year 8B ADAM Y. received Bronze. These outstanding students have successfully qualified for the Asian Round in Macao, China, an incredible opportunity to compete with some of the best young speakers from across the region. We are extremely proud of their achievements and wish them every success as they represent our school on this prestigious international stage. 

In addition, in the WSDA Speech and Debate Tournament Regional Round held in Chengdu, our Year 10 student Fiona S. won second place in the High School Division and was also honored with the title of Best Speaker for her outstanding performance. Fiona S. also achieved a Distinction in the 2025 Gauss Mathematics Contest, ranking in the top 20% among thousands of participants worldwide. 

In the recently released 2025 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), Léman International School Chengdu once again excelled: out of 31 participants, 28 students earned awards, achieving an impressive 90% success rate, including 1 National Prize, 1 National Distinction, and 8 National Credits. Furthermore, in the 2025 Senior Mathematical Challenge (UKMT-SMC), our students achieved outstanding global recognition, earning 1 Global Gold Award and 2 Global Silver Awards.
