Outstanding International School for Expatriate Children in Southwest China
In an era where education is being continuously redefined, a truly outstanding international school is measured not only by rankings and accolades, but by the lasting impact it has on students’ futures.
At the 2026 HSBC International Education Exhibition, Léman International School Chengdu was honoured in the Forbes China International Schools Selection as the “Outstanding International School for Expatriate Children in Southwest China.” This recognition is more than an accolade; it is a powerful endorsement of the school’s educational philosophy and its achievements in practice.
World-class Learning Opportunities
As a proud member of the Nord Anglia Education group, Léman International School Chengdu draws on a truly global education network to bring world-class learning opportunities into campus. From enriching international learning experiences to a collaborative platform connecting over 100,000 students worldwide, learners engage in authentic global environments where they explore, dialogue, and co-create solutions. This form of learning goes beyond knowledge acquisition—it is about cultivating responsibility, perspective, and global citizenship.

In terms of academic outcomes, Léman continues to deliver compelling results. Among the Class of 2026, over 53% of graduates received scholarships, including five conditional full scholarship offers from The University of Hong Kong. Students have also received offers from leading global universities such as the London School of Economics and Political Science, University College London, The University of Melbourne, The University of Sydney, McGill University, King’s College London, The University of Manchester, The University of British Columbia, and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In the field of the arts, offers from institutions including the University of the Arts London, Pratt Institute, and the Glasgow School of Art further reflect the school’s commitment to holistic student development.

Academic Excellence
In the previous academic year, our school achieved an IB average score of 37.4, significantly above the global average of 30, with a 100% pass rate. One student achieved the perfect score of 45, three students attained 43 points, and nearly half of the cohort scored above 40. These outcomes reflect a strong foundation of structured teaching, personalised support, and high academic expectations.

Academic quality is further reinforced through internationally recognised accreditations. Léman International School Chengdu is fully accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Council of International Schools (CIS), and the Council of British International Schools (COBIS). These accreditations represent not only external standards, but an ongoing commitment to reflection, improvement, and excellence.
Leveraging the Nord Anglia global network, students also benefit from forward-looking collaborations, including STEAM programmes with MIT, performing arts guidance from The Juilliard School, elite sports training through IMG Academy, and global citizenship initiatives in partnership with UNICEF. These interdisciplinary opportunities extend learning beyond the classroom, transforming it into a meaningful connection with the wider world.
Behind every achievement lies a collective effort. This recognition is rooted in the curiosity and perseverance of students, the professionalism and dedication of educators, and the trust and support of families. Together, they form a vibrant and caring learning community.
For Léman, this award is not an endpoint, but a new beginning. Amid the continued growth of international education in Southwest China, the school remains committed to driving innovation and creating a learning environment that is both challenging and inclusive. Because the true purpose of education is not only to prepare students for university—but to prepare them for a wider, more complex, and more meaningful world.
