Our First Day of School: A Bright Beginning to 2026–27

The rain may have been pouring, but the smiles were shining bright at Léman International School Chengdu!

On 17 August 2026, our campus came alive as we welcomed students back for the first day of the 2026–27 academic year. From excited arrivals and joyful reunions to new friendships and familiar faces, the day was filled with the energy and anticipation that make the start of a new school year so special.

For some of our students, it was their very first day at Léman — a new school, new teachers, new classmates and the beginning of an exciting journey. For our returning students, it was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends, catch up with teachers and settle back into the rhythm of school life.

Across the campus, classrooms and learning spaces quickly filled with conversation, curiosity and laughter. Teachers welcomed students with enthusiasm, while students began discovering what the year ahead has in store — new subjects to explore, new challenges to embrace, new skills to develop and countless opportunities to grow.

The first day is about more than simply returning to school. It is about new beginnings. It is the moment when plans and preparations become real, when anticipation turns into experience, and when a new chapter begins.

At Léman, we believe that every journey is made up of meaningful moments — the first hello, the first new friendship, the first lesson, the first challenge overcome, and the first achievement celebrated. Together, these moments become memories that stay with us long after the first day is over.

As we begin this new academic year, we look forward to seeing our students learn with curiosity, connect with confidence, challenge themselves and grow into their best selves.
