Meet the Teacher: Building Stronger Connections Between Families and School

As we settle into the new academic year at Léman International School Chengdu, our campus was filled with warm conversations and meaningful connections this week as families joined us for our Meet the Teacher events.
For both Primary and Secondary, the sessions provided parents with an opportunity to meet their children’s teachers and gain valuable insights into how their children have settled into the new academic year. Teachers shared observations from the first week of school, including students’ learning progress, classroom engagement, relationships with peers and overall wellbeing. Parents also had the opportunity to learn more about the curriculum, expectations and exciting learning opportunities ahead, helping to build a strong foundation for continued communication and collaboration between home and school.

Meet the Primary Leadership Team
In Primary, parents also had the opportunity to meet our Primary Leadership Team. This special session offered families an introduction to our academic vision, pastoral approach and key priorities for the new school year. It was also a valuable opportunity for parents to ask questions, share their thoughts and get to know the leaders who work closely with our students and teachers every day.

Connecting Families with Our Teachers
In Secondary, parents met with subject teachers and homeroom teachers to learn more about their children’s academic journey. From curriculum and learning goals to communication and student wellbeing, the conversations helped establish a strong foundation for the year ahead.
At Léman, we believe that strong relationships between families, teachers and students are essential to creating a successful learning environment. Open communication and collaboration allow us to better understand each student and provide the support they need to thrive.
This week’s Meet the Teacher events were more than just an introduction. They marked another important step in building a connected and supportive school community. We look forward to working closely with our families and, together, helping every Léman student learn, grow and flourish.
