'Submersion' is the sink or swim method to learning a additional language. The learning environment accommodates both students who have acquired the language naturally and those learning it as an additional language. This common language becomes the lanugage through which all instruction and interaction takes place. With purposeful teaching and support, students learn to swim by becoming competent in the language.

Next week, CISAK will be hosting Tim Eaton, a representative of Regents International School Pattaya, where submersive language learning is implemented. Regents International School Pattaya, like Compass International School, Al Khor, is a member of the Nord Anglia Education family of world-class international schools and one of very few premium British international boarding schools in Asia. Over 50 nationalities are represented within the school, but the largest single language group is native English. English is the language of tuition and the universal language of the boarding hoses, and the school offers outstanding English tuition to children who are complete beginners.

Tim Eaton will be visiting CISAK on Tuesday afternoon (from 14:00-18:00) and Wednesday morning. Parents will be informed of the details next week.
