Akhila Raj (7LO) has been selected to travel to New York as part of Nord Anglia Education's Global Orchestra Choir. Akhila had the following to say about this achievement:
"On Monday last week, I found out that I was chosen to sing in the Global Orchestra. After finding out about my achievement, I was literally bouncing off the walls for the rest of the day. My friends, family and teachers were so happy and supportive.
For my Global Orchestra trip, I will be attending a summer camp for a week in New York. I will be singing with students from all over the world and rehearsing a song in Juilliard, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world.
I think this opportunity will be great for me to grow into a better musician and to be better at what I love. To me, music is life. I'm passionate about my singing and I'd like my voice to be heard. When I sing, I become immersed in the lyrics and the meaning behind them. I'm extremely happy that I will now get to sing with other people that share my passion and love for music."
