NAISAK student wins Qatar National Visual Arts ‘ZERO WASTE’ Competition

Congratulation to our NAISAK student Hanifah A. for winning second prize in the National Visual Arts Competition ‘ZERO WASTE’.

The Ministry of Municipality announced the launch of a "zero waste" competition, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, to encourage students to participate in the "zero waste" campaign and create new ways to dispose of waste, recycle and protect natural resources. The competition, which ran from January 22 to March 2, aimed at the participation of public and private school students in the three academic stages: primary, preparatory, and secondary, to show their creativity in expressing its subject, through flexibility, originality, innovation, and creating an aware generation of the importance of waste by developing a methodology of thinking about its management. The "zero waste" competition included three sub-competitions in the fields of drawing and photography, the digital art competition, and the handicraft competition (waste recycling).

Hanifah won second price in the drawing and painting category. Her work was exhibited in the 3rd Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference and Exhibition – Doha 2023 at the Sheraton Hotel. Hanifah attended the award ceremony on Wednesday 10th May to receive 3000 Qatari Riyal prize in addition to a certificate of Honor. She was awarded her prize by His Excellency Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie the Minister of Municipality which is a great honor.
